Mr. Williams has 44 years of experience in the fields of housing and community development, thirty-seven of which have been in Senior and Executive Management positions. He joined HACG in 2001. HACG has achieved High Performer status (through HUD) for both the public housing and Section 8 program.
Prior to joining HACG, Mr. Williams served as Deputy Executive Director of the Housing Authority of the Birmingham District, and Director of Finance and Administrative Services for the Housing Authority of Savannah. Prior to his work with Public Housing Authorities, Mr. Williams worked in Planning and Community Development for the Cities of Savannah and Memphis.
Mr. Williams holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Memphis and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of West Georgia. He is active nationally as a Board member and past Chair of the Housing Authority Insurance Group, a Trustee of the Public Housing Authorities Directors Association and a member of the Affordable Housing Accreditation Board.
Mr. Williams is very active in the Columbus community and serves on the Boards of United Way, Muscogee Educational Excellence Foundation, Goodwill of the Southern Rivers, HOME for Good, the Muscogee County Library System, the Historic Columbus Foundation, and serves as Ex Officio at Midtown Inc., and Historic Columbus.
