Dr. David M. White has been with Troy University for over 20 years and is the Vice Chancellor of the Phenix City Campus. Prior to his current position, Dr. White spent four years as the Troy University Site Director at Ft Benning and six years as the Director of the Southeast Region of Troy’s Global Campus, responsible for 23 site locations in six states.
Prior to coming to Troy University, Dr. White spent a 26-year career with the United States Army as an infantry officer with numerous instructional and training assignments to supplement his leadership and command positions. He is a graduate of the Army Command and Staff College and the Army War College and retired as Colonel.
He is a committee chairman with the Whitewater Stakeholders and has participated on numerous strategic planning endeavors with organizations such as Columbus Technical College, Uptown Columbus, the Phenix City Housing Authority, the Phenix City Office of Economic Development and the Columbus Chamber of Commerce. He serves on the Board of the Phenix City Chamber of Commerce, the Muscogee Educational Foundation, as well as the Implementation Committee for Columbus 2025. He is a member of the Columbus Downtown Rotary Club and St Anne’s Catholic Church.
Dr. White holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Florida State University (1970), a Masters of Education Degree in Educational Administration from Georgia State University (1975), and a PhD in Educational Administration from the University of Utah (1983). Dr. White lives in Columbus, Georgia with his wife of 47 years. He has two grown sons and seven grandchildren.
