Fred Crawford came to Columbus from Indianapolis in June 2015 to join Aflac as executive vice president and chief financial officer, responsible for overseeing the financial management of company operations. He brings nearly three decades of financial and leadership experience to Aflac.
Most recently, Crawford served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of CNO Financial Group since 2012. Prior to that, he spent more than a decade at the Lincoln Financial Group serving in roles of progressive responsibility, including executive vice president and chief financial officer as well as leading Corporate Development and Investments. Before joining Lincoln Financial Group, he held leadership positions at Bank One Corporation.
Crawford received his Bachelor of Arts from Indiana State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Iowa, where he currently serves on the advisory board of its Tippie College of Business. While in Indianapolis, he was active in the community, serving on the boards of United Way of Central Indiana and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.
Crawford and his wife, Priscilla, have two children: Lauren, 25, a fourth-year medical student at Indiana University, and Matthew, 22, a senior at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and Jacobs School of Music.
