 A central part of our mission is to “serve as a trustworthy partner and leader in shaping effective responses to community needs and opportunities.” Although we are still a young organization with limited resources and staff, we take that part of our mission very seriously. To us, it’s a vital component of connecting donors to issues that they care about.
To that end, we participate in a number of area initiatives that we believe hold particular promise for those who love and serve our community. They're listed on either side; we encourage you to click and explore!
In particular, we are honored to have been selected as one of three community foundations in the U.S. to partner with Community Foundations of America in a new initiative that translates national issues to a local level to inform and engage local donors. While the first national issue focuses on reading, subsequent issues will range across the board of charitable opportunities.
